SPH-4B HELICOPTER HELMET


 SPH-4B is the most commonly used military helicopter helmet in the field. Aeromiltec standard configuration is in O.D.color with NATO commset, 24 inch coiled or straight cordset, in sizes Regular or XL. NVG quick release clip is optional at extra charge. The helmet shell is a high-strength, lightweight composite reinforced with epoxy resin. Rubber edge beading covers the peripherals of the shell.


Inner Liner


The energy-absorbing liner we deliver with is either the Zeta comfort liner or the rigid polystyrene molded to conform to the inside of the helmet shell.  Each lightweight earcup assembly consists of a contoured plastic earcup and a cushioned earseal (with a raised inner ring for maximum sound attenuation and comfort).


Communications


The communications system consists of a boom-mounted microphone M-87/AIC or Electret Mic , dual earphones, and a communications cord. A flex boom is available as an upgrade.process.  The visors assembly is available in a dual or single visor configuration. The dual visor option is available in 3 forms; plain (non-NVG compatible), or NVG platform (provides a permanent mount platform), and quick-disconnect version.Aeromiltec can deliver the helmet with ANR system.


Chinstrap/Retention Assembly Strength


The chinstrap/retention assembly withstands a strength test of 300 pounds when tested in using ANSI Z90.1lb test methodology and equipment. Available in double D-ring or as a quick-disconnect (snap).


Customization


Each helmet can be designed and/or configured with a variety of different features: earphones, wire or flex boom microphones, communications cords/plugs, communication earplugs, and ANR (Active Noise Reduction). Other upgrade accessories such as NVG , ANR Headsets and Lipe Lites are available upon request.

SPH-4B is available in sizes Small , Regular and XL with memory comfort liner, 400 Lb retention system with or without liplite and with or without helmet bags . All SPH-4B's come with NVG type Dual Visor Housing , the NVG quick release clip at extra charge .
