The HSSK is an integrated seat-life raft survival kit configured for rotor wing use. The HSSK™ system has been designed to offer aircrew members an accessible liferaft & survival kit for easy egress of a helicopter during emergency over-water evacuation. The  system configurations are lightweight, low profile container, contoured to fit the seat cushion of the crew seat.

The HSSK cushion type personal survival pack is a removable part of the aircrew seat cushion with Nylon handles for detaching from the seat. The pack is secured to the seat back cushion by means of Velcro straps, and has a separate adjustable lumbar support. Theliferaft is deployed after egress from the helicopter by pulling a lanyard which activates the CO₂ system to inflate the raft.
